Happy Friday: 3, 2, 1... Blast Off!
Happy Friday: Venice Biennale Space Rocket Roses Sculpture 2011

Happy Friday!

It has been a while since I last posted an entry on my blog... Just had a busy schedule lately, e.g. designing and getting artwork printed for a few clients and selling a heck load of items on eBay, to name a few... not that I'm complaining (well, maybe the eBay stuff is a pain at times), but I enjoy keeping busy - I get all fidgety if I sit around doing nothing.

The photograph of the enormous white space rocket containing lovely red roses was taken by myself when I visited Venice with my boyfriend back in 2011 (Reminder for Bev: need to find artist's name). There happened to be the 'la Biennale di Venezia' going on which meant that Venice was turned into giant open exhibition... Empty shops, alleyways, archways, plazas, bridges and paths beside the Grand Canal featured some sort of curious exhibition. This event happens every two years (please correct me if I'm wrong), so if you're in the vicinity when this event is going on do check it out as there are some exciting pieces of work!

Ahhh... I do miss Venice! I hope to go back and attend the carnival dressed in fancy attire, adorning mysterious masks.

Anywho, enough daydreaming! I hope you all have a blast this weekend!

Thanks for the post, it looks and sounds very interesting. I've never been to Venice, I might try and get there next year, or maybe in 2015 if the exhibition is every two years.

@Hairy Caveman, Venice is beautiful and very cultural!

If you go, make sure you bring some comfortable walking shoes *my sandals tortured me :'(*. Also! Make sure you get a taxi boat from airport to hotel (and back) inclusive in your booking, or else you'll be forking out 100+ Euros for a taxi ride each way (luckily that didn't happen to us, but I witnessed a poor bloke that did)!

I have plenty more handy tips for Venice. Hope you get the opportunity to go there soon :)
